Local businesses and entrepreneurs in Brentwood and Ongar have received help in the last year from Google Digital Garage, which is a multi-million pound investment in free digital skills training for adults in the UK. Over the last five years the Google Digital Garage programme has trained over one million small businesses and individuals, providing free digital skills training in person and online across more than 500 cities, towns and villages. There are over a hundred free on-demand training courses as well as interactive webinars.
I was able to take place in one of these workshops in Ongar, and was pleased to see how much it helped all those who took part. In an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible and open to learning new skills that help businesses to thrive, and create opportunities for those looking to change jobs or find work, is more important than ever. I certainly learned a few tips and tricks myself and will make good use of them this year!
