I am keen to support all initiatives to reduces waiting times for NHS patients who need elective treatment for various conditions. The Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood provides an excellent service to many people in Brentwood for NHS care and for those who have private health insurance. However, in a recent visit I was very interested to hear how Spire worked with the NHS during the Covid pandemic, and how this hospital has taken on NHS patients for certain procedures to help clear waiting times.
I was delighted to meet a young apprentice nurse, who is also one of my constituents, who is doing some of her basic training at the hospital and will, I have no doubt, go on to great things with the health service in the future.
