I do try to frequent local independent businesses as much as possible when I am out and about in the constituency on Friday visits. Brentwood High Street's cafe society is blossoming at the moment, and praise is due to Shep at EighTea9 for the growing success of this bustling tea shop at 89 High Street. I always get a warm welcome when I pop in.
Another new teashop is literally 'in the pink' on Crown Street too. Chantilly has become known as the 'Pink Cafe' with it matching pink teapots, teacups, tablecloths, chairs and amazing floral display winding its way around the window. Sally and Natalie, who own and run Chantilly, have made a new 'go to' place in Brentwood for baby showers, afternoon teas, and the soon-to -be launched diabetic cream tea range, Natalie - as a former NHS diabetes nurse - has created.
Good luck to both ventures which are bringing such joy to Brentwood town centre, and do pop in for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. I might see you there!
