Caring for older people at home instead of admitting them to hospital requires careful organisation and collaborative working between GPs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social care providers. One of my constituents, Dr Sat Lal, is confident the project his Southend GP practice is pioneering will make outcomes better for older people, and met with me to discuss how I can take this forward with Ministers.
I'm keen to champion the work our local health services are doing to support the health of older people and improve outcomes, and am happy to meet to discuss all ideas which will help all services work together effectively.
