13th January: Update
I have just received the following update from Greater Anglia in response to my inquiries on behalf of constituents:
"We have completed our quick review of the feedback we have received and we are making some changes over the next couple of weeks to address some of the most significant issues raised with us, one of which is particularly helpful and relevant for you and your constituents.
From Monday 17 January a 16.10 service from Chelmsford to Shenfield and London Liverpool Street will be introduced that should directly address the issue for school pupils returning home raised by parents and your constituents..
We’re sorry for any inconvenience the current temporary revised timetable has caused. We’re pleased to have been able to respond quickly and address the key issues highlighted to us, including this specific one affecting some of your constituents.”
11th January:
I've had a number of emails this week about timetable changes introduced by Greater Anglia on Monday 10th January.
Some commuters are finding the early trains are too busy, while schoolchildren who travel to school in Chelmsford are struggling to make it to the station in Chelmsford on time to get a train home, so have to wait for more than an hour for the next service.
I've been in touch with Greater Anglia and have been assured the company is reviewing the issues raised in connection with the new temporary timetable to see what adjustments might be possible. As soon as they have been able to assess what next steps are practical they will be back in touch and I will update my constituents accordingly.
In the meantime, any individuals affected by the timetable changes might wish to contact Greater Anglia direct to ensure they are aware of all the concerns from regular travellers.
