I have had many constituents who have children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) contact me about support and advice for them and their children as they try to negotiate the education, welfare and care system for their families.
Families with children who have additional needs are already under a great deal of pressure, having to deal with hospital appointments, assessments, medication, behavioural issues and a multitude of things, so making sure the right support and advice is in place is vital.
Essex County Council, which has recently been given £1.7million to improve education inclusion, is the organisation with the responsibility of providing access to that support and advice, It's running some free workshops to help parents , and you can find out more here: https://www.essex.gov.uk/news/2024/free-send-information-sessions
