Millions of households receiving certain benefits, including tax credits, are eligible for a Cost of Living Payment of up to £650, paid in two lump sums of £326 and £324.
Anyone receiving both tax credits and other eligible benefits, will be getting payments now from DWP.
For those who are only on tax credits and who are eligible, HMRC will issue payments automatically in the autumn.
HMRC will contact those who are eligible beforehand, to let you know the payment is coming. The later payment date for these customers is to avoid duplicate payments with DWP.
You do not need to contact HMRC or apply, as payment is automatic. All the information you need is on the gov.uk website and in the letter HMRC send before payment.
