The best of luck to students from St Helen's Catholic Junior School Academy who have seen off competition from 1,009 teams to across the country to represent West Ham United in the finals of the National Girls Tournament on Wednesday 18th May. The teams will go through a full Premier League matchday experience: walking out the tunnel, wearing the official kit of their professional club, with their matches officiated by PL, EFL and WSL referees.
This tournament is just part of the Premier League Primary Stars projects which uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to help primary school children be active and develop essential skills. Curriculum-linked resources are available entirely free to every primary school in England and Wales, aiming to inspire girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. Over 18,000 schools are already involved. Teachers, pupils and parents are all hugely positive about the impact of the project, which you can read about here: www.plprimarystars.com.
